BREAD SLICE MASALA UPPUMA

Ingredients

Bread slice                    -        5

Onion                            -        1 1/2 

Tomato                         -        11/2 

Green Chillies               -        2

Sambar powder              -        3/4 tsp

Turmeric Powder           -        1/8 tsp

Ginger garlic paste        -        1/2 tsp

Salt                                -        as needed

Curry Leaves                  -        1 sprig

Coriander leaves            -        To garnish

Ghee                               -        1 tsp

To temper

Coconut oil                   -        1 tblsp

Mustard Seeds                -        3/4 tsp

Urad Dal                         -        1 tsp

Channa Dal                     -        1 tsp

Cashew Nuts                  -       few

Method:

Cut the bread slices into bite size squares. Slice the onion,green chillies and chop tomato.

Heat a pan with oil and season with the items given under the ‘To Temper’ table.

Fry onions till transparent and add the ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.


Add tomatoes,salt and fry till tomatoes turn soft.

Add turmeric and sambhar powder and stir well. Sprinkle some water.


Add the bread pieces and mix/toss well.

Add ghee,keep in low flame and cook for two minutes to see golden brown spots here and there in the bread pieces.

Now ready to your bread slice masala upma.
