Ingredients:

Rice                      -        3 cup           

Split green gram    -         1 cup

Jaggery                -        4 cup (powdered)

Ghee                    -        250 gm

Cashews              -        15 nos

Dry grapes          -        10 nos

Cardamon           -        6 nos

Water                  -        6 cup

Water                  -        1 cup (for melting Jaggery)

Methods:

Take all the ingredients

Now soak dal and rice before cooking for 20 minutes.

Wash rice and add dal

 

Now melt jaggery with 1 cup of water over the stove top, should take about 5 minutes, just wait for the jaggery to dissolve completely

Now add thoroughly cooked rice and dal mixture to the jaggery syrup and mix well. A filter is used to get off all the impurities in the melted jaggery.

Now add the powdered cardamon, fried cashews, dry grapes and leftover ghee. Cook everything on medium flame until it thickens and becomes sticky. (about 5 minutes over low flame) now ready to serve.
