Sago (Javvarisi) Payasam

Preparation Time   :         10 mins

Soaking Time         :         1 hour

Cooking Time         :         40 to 45 mins

Serves                   -        4 to 5

Ingredients:

Sago/ Sabudana /Javvarisi              -        1 cup

Milk                                              -        750 ml

Sugar                                            -        1/2 cup

Milkmaid / Condensed Milk             -        1/2 cup

Cardamom powder                      -        1 tsp

Cashews, Pista, Almonds Nuts   -        3 tblspn

Ghee                                             -        1 tsp optional

Method:

Take sago in a bowl

 

Wash it well

 

Pour the water

 

Use clean water to soak

 

After is has been soaked for a hour,

it must have doubled in size

 

Take all your ingredients

 

Take milk in a sauce pan

 

Boil it and simmer for 15 mins or so

 

Add sago in this

 

Allow it to cook

 

When it is cooked, Add sugar

 

Add condensed milk

 

Mix that around

 

Add some cardamom powder

 

Add nuts, you could fry them in some ghee too..
